every time I get to photograph
Lily and Ethan, I have the most wonderful time and love the photos. They are both so engaged in the world around them, they barely pay me any mind and I feel free to create gorgeous portraits like these.
One challenge with photo sessions in the summer is that the best light is often outside of a family’s comfort-zone (meaning, no one wants to keep their kids up till 8pm, or have them out for photos at 7am!) I get it. So I not only love wooded locations where we can find some shade and dappled light, but I’m also pushing myself to improve my ability to shoot in the sunny morning hours of 8-10am. This was a 9 – 9:30 shoot, already a bright day by that early hour. I think we did all right.

(I just realized I never posted their fall photos – I’ll update this link once I have it posted!)
