I have to admit: when I bake with my son, it never looks this adorable. Which is to say, I need some of Erica’s mom mojo!
Spending a morning with Erica and Ryan, and their cute-as-heck kids Caleb and Ava, making Christmas cookies, was EXACTLY the kind of December session I love to shoot. Nothing posed (except a quick and funny family portrait right at the end of the session) and a great activity to keep the kids engaged, made for these memory-rich photographs. Those little hands, measuring and mixing. The mischievous, shameless sprinkle-licking. Hints of developmental stages: Caleb a careful and precise preschooler, Ava’s one-year-old gusto. And encircling it all, the ring-master-like calm of mom and the fetching, overseeing, helping hands of dad.
These are photos that only grow more valuable over time – as children grow up, parents get older, moments become memories, and activities become traditions.
The holiday season is upon us. If you would love to have photos like these, don’t wait until next year to talk to me about it. Erica and Ryan are Annual Pass members – which means they have several sessions with me throughout the year. Ask me about becoming an Annual Pass member, and we can talk more about the traditions you want to preserve in photos. I’d love to see YOU making cookies with your kids next year.
