when a family
is up for a full day in the life session, I love it!
I was so excited to connect with these parents: the mom grew up in Potomac. She’s now married with two kids, living in Silicon Valley. Her parents still live in their family home, but they’re moving soon, to be closer to the kids and grandkids in California. So this was their last visit to DC, their last Christmas in the house she grew up in. She asked me to spend the day with them, documenting a day in their life as the celebrated here together for the last time.
I hope the memories preserved in these photos bring their family joy for years to come.
The morning began with pjs and biscuits (a little tradition between M and his grandmother), then family breakfast. After some morning play time, getting dressed, Christmas present wrapping and tree decorating, it was lunch time, and then we all headed down to visit the Jefferson Memorial for a little touristing and family photos.
This is a pretty typical day in the life session – small and beautiful moments that tell the story of your family in a way no portrait-in-a-park session ever can. If this kind of photography makes your heart happy like it does mine, let’s plan a session like this for you too.
