if you follow my photos
for any length of time you’ll probably learn: I love woodsy locations, and I love shooting outdoors near sunset. Sometimes it can be tricky, especially in summer, to work around the sleep schedules of little humans, but it’s always worth it to get outside when that golden evening sunlight is low enough to dip below the tops of the trees and color everything warm and rich.
This spring was an unseasonably cold and rainy one, so catching an evening like this between cycles of downpours was a lucky break. It was gorgeous, and cool but not cold.
I have so much affection for this family – they’ve been working with me for their family photos for almost three years now. I’ve watched David grow, and was there to welcome Clara home when she was born. I’ve met and photographed extended family when they’ve come to visit. They’re one of the most loving families I know – Dad is super-engaged in his children’s lives, and Mom is one of the smartest, hardest-working women I’ve ever met. Being invited to document their family’s life and growth is such a pleasure and honor.
And the kids: the most delightful, silly, happy kids you’ll ever meet!
