There’s no question that the holidays hold so much magic! Whether you’re young or old, there are magical moments around just about every corner. I was delighted when this family asked me to come capture some candid, joyful, holiday memories for them in their home. I’ve been photographing this family before little Zoë arrived, and Virginie and Ben are such warm and welcoming people. They are both scientists from France, who are working in the United States, and little Zoë was born here in the states.
Little miss Zoë wasn’t a big fan of me the first few times we met (perhaps she didn’t like all the photography gear), but she has really warmed up the last few times, and loves having her photos taken now! I enjoy spending the time with this family anytime I am asked, documenting their milestones and moments. That’s what’s so special about doing these lifestyle-type sessions: you can celebrate holiday traditions and memories without the pressure of it being your “once a year, color coordinated” family shoot. Kids can be themselves, and you will love looking back on things that were part of your real-life together. This sweet little trio was preparing for a Joyeaux Noël together, and it was filled with the magic of the holidays. I loved the mini tree, and Zoë’s eyes lit up brighter than any string of lights.
Thank you, Ben and Virginie, for including me in the life of your family for so many years!
