Summer nights have the power to be magical.
Everyone knows it.
Think back to your own childhood – what memories of summer nights come to mind when you think back to the days before you paid attention to what time it was?
I remember evening breezes lifting off the heat of the day, chasing lightning bugs in an un-mown lot across the street from my grandmother’s house and coming back in the gloom of dusk with a mason jar full of flickering golden beetles. I remember running through the sprinkler with my brothers, and drying off by swinging as high as could on the swing set. I remember eating watermelon slices from a huge bowl with my cousins. Eating hot dogs off the grill with neighbors and their kids.
Imagine each memory as a photograph you could pull out and relive. I’d give anything for photos of those evenings chasing fireflies.
What about your own kids? What summer memories make up the “every day” kind of days? Do they push bedtime back with the late-setting sun, do they play barefoot, foreheads damp with sweat and hair flying as they ride bikes on the sidewalk? Do they chase lightening bugs too?
A couple of weeks ago I sat in my backyard with my husband and son. We were only out for an hour or so, as the sun went down, but it brought so many memories back to my mind. I grabbed my camera. I want to have these memories in pictures. I want my son to have them, when he’s sitting in a backyard with a son of his own.
And I want YOU to have those photos too. I want to help you with that! For the month of July, I’m offering my best-ever mini-session special. No packages, no fuss, summer simplicity. Your Backyard Story Sessions are 45-min sessions + digital files for $499. Plan nothing more than an evening at home. Invite family, or your closest friends, or make it just you and the kid(s). Cook out, or make a picnic, set up the sprinkler, pour a cold glass of wine, tend the garden, and let me document your real life summer evening. Don’t worry about making the photos amazing – that’s my job. (Sure, we can throw in a “smiling at the camera family portrait” shot, but I’ll focus on creating print-worthy documentary images of your beautiful real life as it happens.) Don’t have a backyard? NO PROBLEM! I’ll come with you to your favorite park/playground (or I can recommend a spot you’ll love).
These sessions are for weeknights only (Mon- Fri) and can be booked for 6pm or 7:30pm. I’m taking two per week for the month of July only. Get in touch quickly – I know these sessions will book fast.
