Meeting R & C for this photo session was such an absolute pleasure. I arrived at their Columbia Heights home to find R looking absolutely gorgeous (who would not kill for her tumble of espresso curls?) and C peacefully tending teeny weeny Myra. R had several wonderful little outfit ideas laid out, and I immediately chose the cozy cable-knit sweater – baby in a woolen cardigan? Yes please.
yawns!! I die.
One of the most lovely aspects of lifestyle photography is that we’re open to the moments, to the real things happening — nothing is more real than a newborn baby, who is utterly oblivious to what a “photo shoot” is, or what she “ought” to be doing. Letting life happen, and documenting that, is all part of the session. R and C were completely comfortable with just *being* a family in front of the camera, and I love the photos that came out of that.
Thank you, R & C, for welcoming me into your home and sharing a little Myra time with you. She’s such a lucky baby to have you for parents, and you’re such lucky parents to have her for a daughter.
