capturing real moments in photos
is about more than just keeping parents and kids happy and comfortable – sometimes it’s about shedding all the artifice of coordinated outfits and idyllic meadows, and shooting the *real* real life. Life where the kids are playing in their own backyard, where they take breaks for a hug from mom, where they haul the family dog into the wagon because of course the dog should get in the wagon. Where no one has to pose or pretend, where no bribes are necessary because smiles aren’t forced. Where you get into the nitty gritty of being a family and make pictures of that amazing everyday that is your life.
I was so, so happy when Susan contacted me about family photos, because she wanted a low-key, real life session at home for her three kids.
Not posed. Not forced. Not pushed. Just me with the camera capturing real moments in beautiful images.
I’m really lucky to get the opportunity to meet families this way, to step into their world, and create photographs that tell their story.
Here’s a sneak peek for Susan until we meet to see everything!
